NATIONAL SALES MANAGER JOB DESCRIPTION

We are seeking a dynamic and results-driven National Sales Manager to join our rapidly growing company and lead our team of Independent Sales Representatives (ISRs) and Outside Sales Representatives (OSRs) while managing a personal portfolio of key accounts.

NATIONAL SALES MANAGER JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

- Lead and manage a team of Inside Sales Reps (ISRs) and Outside Sales Representatives (OSRs), including recruiting new reps to ensure complete coverage of key territories, setting and meeting sales goals, measuring performance, and providing guidance and motivation.
- Directly manage and grow a portfolio of key accounts, including home & gift stores, design firms, and furniture stores, while overseeing the company's overall sales performance to meet both personal and team sales objectives.
- Collaborate on tradeshow strategy for major events, including High Point Market, Las Vegas Market, and Dallas Market, ensuring comprehensive product representation in the showroom to maximize sales potential. Work closely with the showroom setup team to optimize product displays and selections.
- Develop and implement comprehensive sales strategies to capitalize on market opportunities, proactively identifying and pursuing new sales prospects and potential business partners to drive company growth and expand market presence.
- Monitor and report on sales performance metrics for ISR and OSR territories, contributing insights to help develop achievable and realistic company-wide sales goals.
- Cultivate and maintain strong, long-lasting relationships with existing and new business partners to drive sustained growth.
- Serve as a key brand ambassador, fostering positive relationships with our sales force and business partners.
- Implement and promote a customer-centric approach to drive high satisfaction, loyalty, and long-term partnerships with existing and new business partners.
- Travel periodically with the sales team to train them on new products and sales techniques, as well as to visit important customer accounts.
- Develop new policies and procedures as necessary to boost the effectiveness of our sales team.
- Work with internal stakeholders (e.g., Product Development) to provide feedback from customers.

NATIONAL SALES MANAGER JOB REQUIREMENTS

- Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, or related field; MBA preferred
- 7+ years of progressive sales management experience, including at least 5 years managing a large, geographically dispersed sales team (experience with independent sales reps strongly preferred)
- 5+ years of sales experience in the home, gift, and furniture industry, with a proven track record of success in both B2B and B2C environments
- Extensive knowledge of the wholesale industry and current market trends
- Demonstrated ability to execute national sales strategies that consistently meet or exceed targets
- Strong leadership skills with experience in hiring, training, and motivating high-performing sales teams
- Excellent negotiation and relationship-building skills, with a history of managing volume accounts and partnerships
- Advanced analytical skills for sales initiatives and sales team performance tracking
- Proficiency in CRM software, ERP systems, and sales analytics tools
- Outstanding communication and presentation skills, both written and verbal
- Strategic thinker with the ability to contribute to overall business strategy and growth initiatives
- Proven ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams, including marketing, product development, and operations
- Adaptability and resilience in a fast-paced, evolving market environment
- Willingness and ability to travel frequently (up to 50% of the time)

TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS

This position requires regular travel for trade show attendance, customer visits, and team support. Candidates should expect to travel on average 6 weeks per year. The ability to manage time effectively and maintain productivity while traveling is essential for success in this role.
